Just Maps

The Aga Khan Academy Mombasa is proud to collaborate with Just Maps, a transformative initiative co-funded by the European Union, aimed at empowering students to become active global citizens. With a €40,606.50 grant, we are excited to implement this three-year programme (December 2024-November 2027) that will equip students with the tools to critically analyse their communities and drive meaningful change.

Through Just Maps, students and educators will engage in participatory mapping of their local areas, investigating key themes such as environmental sustainability, social justice and inequality. They will create digital maps highlighting both challenges and opportunities in their communities, collaborate with international peers and participate in a Transnational Council of Mappers to develop innovative solutions for global impact.

By integrating this project into our learning framework, we are reinforcing our commitment to fostering intercultural understanding, student leadership and action-driven education.
