Preparation for Year 6 Exhibition - May 19th 2010

09 March 2010

The Year 6 exhibition process is well under way and we can confidently say that the students and their teachers are positive as they ’uncover’ the exhibition journey. A considerable amount of time and effort was spent to collaboratively develop the Central Idea (a universal truth that will guide and lead the inquiry). The Central Idea further guided the identification of student interests and formation of groups.

All the student groups have at least one mentor to guide them throughout the exhibition process. Groups have started to phrase questions that they will research and answer throughout the exhibition process. All mentors (Junior School Teachers) use a common mentor handbook to ensure that all students receive similar guidance and support. However, the groups have scope to lead their inquiries in a manner that is most suited to them.

What are Year 6 students thinking about the exhibition?

"It’s exciting to share different ideas with our friends” –Raghu

"It’s going to be a long journey and hard work but I love the challenge!”- Shirley

"I’m so happy with the support we’re getting from our mentors” - Jacqueline
