Year 7 Student Ronja Florén Launches Book to Help Save Rhinos

24 September 2014

The Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa’s Ronja Florén (year 7), undertook an ambitious project for her Year 6 PYP Exhibition when she decided to write and produce a book that would educate readers on and bring awareness to the plight of the endangered African Rhinos, as well as to raise funds for the cause.

The book, entitled Ray Rhino, follows a young rhino named Ray as he embarks on a mission to save fellow animals by trying to convince poachers to stop killing them. The book has been printed and sales were launched last week at Nomads and Forty Thieves – South Coast. All proceeds of the book sale will go to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and other conservation projects.

With over 100 copies sold to date, Ronja will be hosting another book signing at the Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa, on the 9th of October and at the Diani Charity Goat Derby on the 12th of October.  The books are on sale for 500Ksh.
