The Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa boys’ and girls’ basketball teams competed in two tournaments on January 22-23 and January 29-30 at Mombasa Baptist High School. Both tournaments involved public schools from the wider Mombasa area.

While the boys worked hard to improve many aspects of their game, the girls stole the show winning both tournaments. Led by Captain Mirabelle Arodi, The Academy’s girls’ squad beat Ribe Secondary School, Mombasa Baptist High School, Changamwe Secondary School and Waa Girls Secondary School.

Congratulations to the entire team: Mirabelle, Ulfat, Hanifa, Zainab, Anastasia, Esther, Tadge, Alisha, Farah, Farhana, Jessica, Juwariya, Christine, Faith, Valentina, Flora and coach Rosetta Ngugi. The girls and boys next play in a tournament hosted at The Academy on February 18-19, and again at The Academy on February 26-27.
