A special Eid celebration

01 October 2009
In celebration of Eid, on Monday, September 21, 2009, Academy residential students traveled to Sidik and Rahma Majaoni Pre-Schools near Shanzu, where they served a special lunch that they had prepared for the students.
It was a special Eid celebration for both groups of students.

Academy students also grasped the significance of the event, as one student commented that the experience has made him think twice about the food that he wastes.

For the students at Sidik and Rahma, the majority of whom come from low-income households and a quarter of whom have been orphaned, the only meal they often receive in a day is the porridge that the school feeding programme provides. As a result, the young students contently received their Eid treat.

Dressed in their best Eid clothes, the pre-school students (aged 3-6) happily enjoyed their burgers and juice, as well as songs and games led by the Academy students.
