About our Educators Conference

As educators, we stand at a defining moment in reimagining what it means to teach, lead and inspire in a rapidly evolving world. The Educator's Conference 2026, themed “Educating for Impact: Local Roots, Global Reach”, invites educators and school leaders from across Africa and beyond to reimagine education through the lenses of leadership, sustainability and global collaboration.

Hosted by the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa, this conference builds on the success of previous educator and student conferences that have brought together hundreds of participants from the region and beyond. This year’s event offers a platform for educators to deepen their understanding, exchange best practices and explore how to build learning communities that lead with purpose and impact. Participants will connect across disciplines, countries and communities.

Gala Dinner:

We are hosting a Gala Dinner on the second day of the conference to mark the momentous occasion. Our theme is ‘summer in the tropics’, highlighting Mombasa’s vibrant coastal charm. Join us to network and build connections by the scenic waters of the Indian Ocean.
