Year 8 Student Interviewed About Mars Orbiter Mission

01 October 2014

Rudra Aryan Pottluri, a Year 8 student at the Aga Khan Academy, was invited to be part of recent press coverage around the Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM). The MOM probe, launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation as part of India’s first interplanetary mission, began successfully orbiting Mars on 24 September 2014.

Leading up to the 24 September event, Rudra attended a one-day workshop conducted by the Planetary Society, India to give students insight into the mission.  The objective of the Society is to popularise space sciences and related branches of science, technology and innovation among children, youth, students and the general public.

Having demonstrated his excellent communication skills at the workshop, Rudra was invited to take part in a press conference held on 23 September. He was then selected to take part in a discussion about MOM later the same day, which was telecast live on Express TV news channel. Rudra was also featured the following day in newspaper coverage about the event.

Congratulations to our interplanetary star!
