Student Spotlight - Saharsh Chowdhary

04 September 2020

How many years have you been in the academy?

1 year

What is your favourite place at the academy?

The football field is definitely my favourite place at the Academy, but Golconda 2 also holds a special place in my heart because that’s where I spend most of my time.

What is your favourite memory from your time at the academy?

Winning this election has to be one of the best memories of my time at the Academy so far and one I will cherish for the rest of my life. Apart from this, becoming House Captain last year or becoming the Secretary General for the Model United Nations (MUN) conference is also something that I will never forget.

How do you think the academy has shaped you both as a leader and a person?

As a person it has made me think and as a leader it has made me act. Leading the team to accomplish a goal without expecting recognition is one of the first things I learnt at the Academy. I have received constant support in the form of various chances to prove myself through which I have gained a lot of experiences of being in leadership positions.

How do you feel about being elected as the SRC president?

I feel loved and honoured but also feel a sense of increased responsibility!

What are the first three things that you are going to do as the AKA Hyderabad Student Council President?

There are many things I have in mind but since a lot of people want more time for recreational activities, the first thing the Student Council will be working towards is developing new inter house activities that can happen online. Secondly, I would also like to strengthen the bond between teachers and students. Thirdly, I am planning to create a system wherein parents or students can express their concerns to the Student Council.

What is your vision for the leadership of the Student Council at the Academy?

My vision for the Academy is to make everyone try new and exciting things and to build a strong foundation, which will lead to an alumni group that will always support us for life, wherever we are.

Is there anything you would like your fellow students to know?

I will strive to be the best version of myself and make sure I prove my worth. Let’s all work towards it together.
