Personal Project Exhibition 2013-14

28 May 2014

The most awaited and scary part for MYP 5 finally took shape after a months of struggle, research, failure and success; the ‘Personal Project’ completion, and its exhibition was an exhilarating moment for the students as well as the teachers.

Packed with visitors, the Personal Project Exhibition on May 26th, 2014 offered something of interest to all. Strikingly, many students were keen to raise awareness on many sensitive issues - air pollution, water scarcity, and many other negative aspects in our society: poverty, poor education system.

On a positive note, the community and service aspect did come somewhat to the fore with personal stories, volunteer work, a photography club initiative. Others inspired us with their artistic talent and interests in good food and display of writing skills by penning their first novel.

Quite a few of the projects were inspired by recycling, for instance the eye-catching mini bio-gas plant.

It was interesting to see students selecting and making shape of the topics of their own choice. As neither, the topic nor the type of product was prescribed.

The personal project includes a process journal, outcome or product and a report. Completion of the Personal Project helps students to develop the attributes of the IB Learner Profile; and the school was elated to witness not only a successful project exhibition but also the value code of the students that the school tries to ingrain in the students.
