Let's Work Together

10 June 2013

The Junior School put on their first musical production “Let’s Work Together” on Friday, 7 June 2013.

“Let’s Work Together” is a heartwarming tale about a community of sea creatures on a coral reef. A group of rebel youngsters were fed up with the stories told by the Old Turtle about the “good old days” when the ocean was clean and unpolluted. They decide to go away in search of a better place to live and set off on their journey—their hearts filled with optimism typical of young minds. Meanwhile, in the realm of human beings, the search was on for a “Miracle Plant”, which would cure all sorts of ailments that inflict people on earth. Did the youngsters find their utopia? Did the humans succeed in finding the Miracle Plant?

The narrative and plot conveyed an excellent and hard-hitting message on stewardship, ethics and residential responsibility. This “Think globally, act locally” message is one all strive to live up to, as members of the Aga Khan Academy.

“Let’s Work Together” was a result of collaboration and several weeks of hard work by the students and teachers of the Junior School. The staff and students rose to the challenges of Hyderabad summer heat and limited rehearsal time to make this production possible! Teams of choreographers, music directors and costume and props designers worked tirelessly with commitment and dedication to produce a musical performance of a very high standard. It was no small feat to put up a school show that involves 150 students in the age range of 6–12 years. This production was conceptualized and directed by Ms. Chloe Hill and supported by all Junior School staff members. The cast included all the PYP students.
