Grade Five visits the Salarjung Museum - Richness beyond imagination!

15 March 2016

Born and brought up in Hyderabad, I have visited the Salarjung Museum many times during my childhood. No matter how many times I go there, I am always in awe of the displays showcasing the treasures, wealth and opulence of the Nizams, of the Salarjung Museum and of Salarjung III (Nawab Mir Yusuf Ali Khan) himself - who acquired most of the collection. It has enriched the visits of many patrons over the years, not only with beautiful pieces of art, but also with that of literature.

Salarjung Museum houses the largest one-man collection of antiques in the world. The vast collection is of magnificent sculptures, paintings, textiles, carpets, clocks and furniture from around the world. Students of Grade Five were amazed to see the objects on display at the museum. This truly was a one-of-a-kind experience; the students have never had such an abundance of wealth and treasures before their eyes.
