Student Exchange 2019: Student Reflections on Week Seven

After a busy first half of term, the students have had a well-deserved break. During this time, they were able to visit different parts of their host country. The October break in Hyderabad included a trip to Pondicherry and Tamil Nadu, and the students in Mombasa had the opportunity to go on safari. The students in Mombasa also moved in with host families for part of the break where they could experience day to day life in their host country.

AKA Mombasa teacher awarded scholarship to complete a Master’s of Education

Oliver Baya Wanje, a teacher from the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa, has been awarded a scholarship by the International Baccalaureate to complete an M.Ed with the University of the People.

Student Exchange 2019: Student Reflections on Week Three

This week we will hear from Isbah and Rayyan in Mombasa, who recount how the Garba night made them feel right at home, whilst learning about different elements of their own culture. We also hear from from Mwanapwani and Gakenia in Hyderabad, who took part in a sports competition against a local school.

Developing Resilient Future Leaders

Students at the Aga Khan Academies are encouraged to develop resilience, courage and the tenacity to grow into future leaders. Studies have shown that children who are able to delay gratification achieve higher results later in life, enabling them to become leaders. Read on to hear Dr Jonathan Long, the Head of The Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad, share his thoughts on how we develop resilient future leaders.
