AKA Mombasa student project receives entrepreneurial grant from Wesleyan University

Recently, Aga Khan Academy Mombasa student Ziyaan Virji (Class of 2020) and Academy alumnus Sydney Ochieng (Class of 2018), who currently attends Wesleyan University, received $5,000 in seed grants from the Patricelli Center for Social Entrepreneurship for their project, Accessible and Affordable Sanitation for Women (AASW).

AKA Hyderabad students bag awards in city-wide Model UN

In February 2019, 22 students from the Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad Senior School participated in the International School of Hyderabad Model United Nations, held at Microsoft Campus, Gachibowli. Eight members of the Academy MUN team had standout performances. Middle and senior school students from several city schools took part in the event.

Student Exchange: From Vision to Reality

His Highness the Aga Khan’s vision for the Academies has always emphasised the importance of students being able to travel between campuses to gain new cultural and educational experiences. The inaugural 3-month student exchange, held late last year, was a significant step towards realising this vision, as students exchanged between the Academies in Mombasa and Hyderabad for the first time. Read on as Elizabeth MacFarlane, Student Mobility Coordinator at the Academies, shares how we took this programme from vision to reality and how it will be expanding in the future.
