Luciano Torriani, a Year 10 student at the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa, invented an inexpensive electricity supply and water purification system aimed to enhance the quality of life for his community in the coastal province of Kwale County, Kenya.

AKA Maputo JS students became scientists during their virtual assembly where they created experiments at home and explored other scientific experiments with their teachers.

Following the resumption of in-person learning at the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa, Year 6 students carried out their first-ever science investigation as new members of Senior School. They performed a redox reaction experiment under the supervision of science teacher, Mr. Erick Agira, where they tested the effect of Hydrochloric acid on Magnesium metal. The Year 6 students tell us more about their experience.

Sonakshi Roy, a Year 10 student at the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa, has created a natural and organic perfume which has a calming effect and provides anxiety relief. The perfume project is inspired by her growing interest in psychology and addressing mental health issues.
