Championing bilingual education at school and at home

Over the last couple weeks, the Academy hosted language experts like Eowyn Crisfield-Burr and Juleen Keevy in order to advance the efforts being made in bilingual education. Workshops were held for teachers as well as parents to impress upon the merits of bilingualism.

Virtual museum visit to Aga Khan Museum, Toronto

On 18 February, 2020, students of Grade 7 had the unique opportunity to have a virtual visit to Aga Khan Museum in Toronto, Canada. This virtual visit presented students with an opportunity to explore an exhibition titled Caravans of Gold, Fragments in Time. It shed light on Africa’s rich history, educating the students about the spread and historical influence of the Saharan trading communities that connected Africa and Europe.

Grade 8 visits Mozambique's oldest running newspaper

On Monday, 17 February, 2020, 11 students from Grade 8 visited the oldest newspaper of the country — Noticias. Their Portuguese teacher, Adilia Cabral, planned the field trip to the offices of the daily as her students are currently learning how to write news pieces in their classes.
