Aga Khan Academy Maputo hosts its first-ever TEDxYouth event

On 10 February 2024, the Aga Khan Academy Maputo held its first-ever TEDxYouth event under the theme of “Kintsugi”, a Japanese art form of using gold to put broken pottery pieces back together.

School Closed

The Aga Khan Academy Maputo will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday 13 March. Online learning will be available on Seesaw and Managebac. In-person learning will resume on Thursday, 14 March. 

Enrichment Programmes

The enrichment programmes for the present term at the Aga Khan Academy Maputo will resume on Thursday, 22 February 2024.

Vehicle safety

Effective on Monday, 26 February 2024, the Aga Khan Academy Maputo will introduce new pick-up and drop-off guidelines on campus to ensure the safety of our school community. For more information, please contact Ms Marli Mendes.

Classes end at 02:15 pm on Wednesdays

Starting Wednesday, 24 January 2024 classes will finish at 02:15 pm, every Wednesday, at the Aga Khan Academy Maputo. For more information, please contact school secretaries.

Public holiday

The Aga Khan Academy Maputo will be closed on Monday, 5 February 2024 to observe Matola Day. Classes will resume on Tuesday, 6 February 2024.

Ambassador of Japan visits the Aga Khan Academy Maputo

On 12 January, the Aga Khan Academy Maputo received a visit from His Excellency (H.E.) Mr Hajime Kimura, Japanese Ambassador to Mozambique who was welcomed by Head of Academy Roy White and a diplomatic representative of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), Bárbara Ribeiro.

Meet Abouzar Basiri Zadeh

Hailing from Iran, Abouzar Basiri Zadeh is the Aga Khan Academy Maputo’s country coordinator for its International Talent Identification Programme (ITID). Abouzar’s experience depicts a passion for diversity and togetherness, regardless of background.
