“I looked at this internship as a window of opportunity to discover more about where I come from and…as an opportunity to help my own people,” says Genesis Kayemba. Genesis is one of the many Aga Khan Academies students who participated in summer internships within the Aga Khan Development Network and other partner organisations earlier this year. These unique internships give students hands-on development and work experience within their home communities and countries.

This year, Muslima Niyozmamadova represented the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa at the summit and engaged with other scholars on global issues that affect local communities.
