A Celebration of Service at AKA Mombasa

On Saturday 23 April, a ‘Celebration of Service’ fair was held at the Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa. It aimed to display all the service activities that students from different year groups have been involved in throughout this year.

After trotting through and winning the Coast Regional basketball tournament held last month in Taita Taveta undefeated, the mighty AKA Mombasa boys team went ahead to take on the country’s best at the 2016 High School National Basketball games held at Friends School, Bungoma County.

On Friday 15 April 2016 a fantastic inter-house music competition took place in the Multi-Purpose Hall of AKA Mombasa. It was an afternoon full of music, singing and instruments, with the Hawks emerging victorious in the end.

Naheed Hirji Keynote Speech at 2016 Peace Summit

Naheed Hirji, Growth and Partnerships Manager at Facebook, Africa was one of the Keynote speakers at the Peace Summit 2016. Naheed has in the past worked with Microsoft, Zynga and various social enterprises that are using technology to make a positive change in the world. He currently works on growing internet penetration in Eastern and Southern Africa using Facebook’s free basics (Internet.org).
