Aga Khan Schools and Royal Roads University – Ras Al Khaimah Campus sign partnership to strengthen global learning pathways
The Aga Khan Schools and Royal Roads University – Ras Al Khaimah Campus in the UAE have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen higher education pathways and expand opportunities for students across the Aga Khan Schools.
The agreement was signed at the Aga Khan Academy Maputo by Dr Alaa Mohamad, Vice President – Corporate and Government Relations for Royal Roads University – Ras Al Khaimah Campus and Benoit Destouches, Finance Director of the Aga Khan Schools. This came ahead of the Academy’s International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme graduation ceremony.
Through the agreement, Royal Roads University will provide scholarships to a select number of Aga Khan Schools’ students. The partnership will also create opportunities for cross-cultural exchange and collaboration in teaching and research activities between the two institutions.
“This partnership reflects our shared belief that education is one of the most powerful bridges between cultures, communities and future opportunities,” Dr Mohamad said. “Through this collaboration with the Aga Khan Schools, we are proud to support talented students by expanding access to globally connected higher education pathways, meaningful cross-cultural exchange and future-focused learning experiences.”
Dr Rahim Somani, General Manager of the Aga Khan Schools, shared how this partnership will impact Aga Khan Schools’ students and how it aligns with its mission.
“As the Aga Khan Schools continues to evolve as one integrated global education system, partnerships such as this help expand access to meaningful and globally connected learning opportunities for our students,” Dr Somani said. “Our goal is not only to support academic excellence, but also to prepare young people with the skills, perspectives and values needed to navigate and contribute positively to a rapidly changing world.”
With more than 2,500 graduates annually, the Aga Khan Schools continues to strengthen partnerships with universities and colleges globally to reduce barriers to higher education and create broader pathways for students across its diverse educational contexts.
Alongside this agreement with Royal Roads University – Ras Al Khaimah Campus, the Aga Khan Schools has established partnerships with universities across Canada, India, the UAE and the US. Additional agreements are also being signed with Toronto Metropolitan University, Seneca Polytechnic and Murdoch University Dubai.
