Students share service experiences in city forum

25 February 2019

On 8th February 2019, Academy students of grade 11 visited CHIREC International School, Gachibowli, to attend CASCade, an event organized for schools from Hyderabad to come and present their CAS activities and ideas, and learn from each other.

From the Academy, Arshi Lalani presented her project, the AKA Hyderabad Dance Team, and also danced on stage with team members. Aarav Vadhvania and Sazil Ramani presented the work they did in the Entrepreneurship Club. Iliyan Hariyani and Aaliya Jiwani gave a presentation on 'The Unsung Heroes', an event they organized in appreciation of the school's non-teaching staff. Vignesh Reddy demonstrated how he and his teammates organized service at Vejbai Bal Nivas Boys Orphanage. Atiya Panjwani exhibited the service done at the Blue Cross of Hyderabad, an animal shelter. Finally, Sana Charania and Afreen Damani presented the work they did at the PP Reddy Old Age Home, and with the girls U18 football team.

CHIREC’s school band treated the audience to a music performance before commencement of the event. A number of projects by students of other schools were announced. These projects covered themes like sustainable crockery to female health and hygiene.

“The CASCade team has excellent leadership qualities and you have done amazing team work,” CAS coordinator Venkat Reddy said to his students following CASCade. “The system and hospitality were excellent,” he said of the event. “This is the right forum for all IB school students to share their CAS ideas and display their CAS experience. I congratulate the whole team.” To read a report on CASCade published by CHIREC, click here.
