An Inspiring Music Concert

19 January 2015

Students from the Oklahoma Baptist Fine Arts University, who are on a tour of India, visited the Aga Khan campus on the 13th January 2015.

They entertained the school (students and teachers) with some classics, as well as popular music. It was an entertaining, as well as an educational experience for the students of the Aga Khan Academy.

The students from the university started with an original piece comprising the piano, guitar, cello, drums and the violin. Our students also got the opportunity to listen to a jazz piece from the Charlie Brown comic strip series on the piano and Bach on violin.

Our students upon interacting with them got to know some wonderful facts about their way of living. For example living on a farm, with lots of cows, goats, horses and birds.  The students from Oklahoma inspired and showed our students an alternate path. They are studying Physics along with Piano (Piano being the major subject). Similarly other students are doing their majors in Guitar, Cello and Violin.

It was an interesting mix, one that brought two different worlds together.
