Talent Buzz - May 2018
Talent Buzz 2018 was held on Sunday 27th May, at the Commons. This year we saw 25 performances by students representing Junior and Senior Schools, and an electric audience of over 250 residential students and faculty members.
The First TEDx Youth at AKA Hyderabad
120 guests that primarily included Academy students, faculty, senior management, heads of departments and alumni attended our first TEDxYouth@AKAHyderabad on Saturday 26th May 2018, whose theme was ‘Think Again.’ Eight speakers, two performances and two TED videos were organised in two sessions.
Graduation 2018
The Aga Khan Academies celebrated the graduation of 160 students from the Academies in Mombasa, Kenya and Hyderabad, India on Saturday, 19 May 2018. The Class of 2018 included 76 students from the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa and 84 students from the Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad, many of whom will be going on to higher education at leading universities worldwide.

Cultural Night – an extravaganza epitomising diversity
The Academy’s annual celebration of culture, diversity and pluralism took place at the amphitheatre on the evening of Saturday 3rd November, with close to 20 outstanding dance, music, poetry and dramatic performances by students and staff. The event was organised by five grade 11 students – Aafreen Prasla, Simran Patel, Nihan Khoja, Rahil Jiwani, and Iliyan Gowlani – as a CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) project.
Change Makers musical reflects student agency in Junior School
The Aga Khan Academy Hyderabad Junior School put up its annual musical on the evening of Friday 30th November 2018, at its 100-acre campus near Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. Close to 150 students from grades 1-5 participated in the production, Change Makers, which was conceptualised, scripted and directed collaboratively by a team of faculty in the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) at the Academy. The show title was invented by a grade 5 student, Yashita Chereddi.
