Rachita Shah (Class of 2010)

Rachita graduated from the Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa in 2010 and was accepted at the University of Reading for a BSc undergraduate degree which she obtained in July 2013. While in Reading, she was the Treasurer on the East African Society for a year, the Treasurer for the Swimming Club for a year and also Vice-President for the Swimming Club for a year. She was part of the swimming team that represented the University at national swimming meets (on 4 occasions). She was also a student ambassador for 2 years, acting as a role model for the University and promoting the University at Fairs and on school visits.During the Olympics in London 2012, she was selected as a volunteer, working initially as an assistant selling the official London 2012 merchandise and then was promoted to the role of supervisor. Rachita is currently at the University of Nottingham where she is enrolled in the MSc Clinical Microbiology course. She is also a University Ambassador for Nottingham. She has recently been selected to take part in an ERASMUS exchange program with a University in Germany starting April 2014 to carry out HER final dissertation research project.
