Boys’ basketball team advances to national games

From 14-16 March, the Academy’s girls’ and boys’ basketball teams participated in the Coast Regional Secondary School games at Shimo La Tewa Secondary School, with the boys’ team advancing to the next tournament.  

Being the only school at the games with both a girls’ and boys’ team present, the girls’ team received 5^thplace, while the boys’ won the tournament for the fourth year in a row, after beating Mombasa Baptist High School. 

The boys’ team will now proceed to the national games in Mombasa, which is the highest level in high school basketball competition in Kenya. The tournament is scheduled to take place from 9-13 April. 

The champions of the national games will move on to represent the country at the East Africa school games in Mwanza, Tanzania in August 2019.
