Academy volunteers raise funds for animals in need

14 January 2019

The AKA Hyderabad Blue Cross team set up a stall during the parent teacher meeting on Friday 14th December to raise money for animals in need. Learn about the volunteers' effort and their plans for the future.

The Academy Blue Cross team attended a camp at the Hyderabad chapter of the non-profit where we witnessed the condition of dogs at the shelter. It wasn’t good. They were screaming because of the unavailability of painkillers or the technology needed for their operation. We were told by members of the Blue Cross that they have dogs who need treatment which is expensive and their hands were tied because of a lack of funding. We as a team came together and put up a stall in the school during PTM. We sold t-shirts, bags, gift cards and in one day raised approximately ₹10,000. This fund helped 18 dogs receive treatment. The fundraiser made us realize that a little hard work can give fruitful results. We are looking forward to raising more funds for the shelter and to help the Blue Cross community.
